Color Guard Needed 27-28 APR 12

All Hands,

LT Villegas has sent me an email regarding a color guard needed for the 27th and 28th of this month (April). PLEASE read below:

# 1 FRIDAY 27 APRIL 2012: This will be for a reception at the NATIONAL STEINBECK CENTER at 1 MAIN STREET in SALINAS (PAO remark: I will provide directions to the center closer to the date if you need it). The color guard needs to be there by 1700HRS so we can prep, run through etc…. The main event starts at 1800HRS and is over at 2030HRS. Cadets can leave as soon as we are finished with the color guard ceremony or remain and mingle with the crowd and view exhibits.

#2 SATURDAY 28 APRIL 2012: This will be for the opening ceremony for the Asian Festival in Salinas. The ceremony will take place at the Filipino Cultural Center at 250 Calle Cebu in Salinas. (PAO remark: I will provide directions to the center closer to the date) The color guard needs to be there by 1000HRS so we can prep, run through etc….The main event starts at 1100HRS and is over at 1600HRS. Cadets can leave as soon as they are finished with the color guard ceremony or view exhibits, demonstrations, etc..

for both days, UNIFORM OF THE DAY will be SUMMER WHITES. If you’re able to do this, please contact either the CO, XO, or the PAO (me) as soon as possible. If any of you need your Summer Whites still, contact me IMMEDIATELY. So we can get you fitted for it.

You can also reply back to this e-mail letting me know if you can do the color guard for both days. If you can only do color guard one day, please let us know.

USCG Station Monterey – Color Guard 01 APR 2012

Please stand by for a word from the Commanding Officer…..

Good afternoon all,

I was contacted by LT Kooper, CO of USCG Station Monterey, that we have been asked to do a color guard for a fundraiser for injured veterans returning from Afghanistan, Iraq, and other previous engagements. The event is to take place in Monterey on Sunday, 01 April at 0800. The location is TBD, but will be either at Lover’s Point (in PG) or Dennis the Menace park near Lake Estero in Monterey.

Please contact me as soon as possible if you might be able to assist at this event.

I’m sorry to say that I was quite ill and could not attend the Sea Cadet Luncheon. Though from the looks of the images (thank you to Mrs Wherity and Instructor Phan for sending me the photos) it was quite a turnout.

I would like to extend my congratulations to all of the cadets for your hard work!

For those of you who will be helping out at Officer’s Call this month, I will see you all there.

Good morning all,

Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving.

Just a reminder about the color guard for the NLUS Pearl Harbor Remembrance dinner this Friday, 02 December.

The following cadets have confirmed thus far: Barto, Carbonell, Engholm, H. Phan, T. Phan, Rodriguez, A. Wayne, L. Wayne. Cadet Woods I thought your dad confirmed with me a couple of weeks ago, but please confirm. Cadet Barto, I remembered you have a basketball tournament that day. Will you still be able to make it?

Be at the Elks Lodge in Monterey by 1745. You will begin escorting some of the guests to their seats at 1800, and will stop at approx. 1825 to prepare for the color guard. The colors will be presented at 1855, followed by the National Anthem. LT will bring the color guard gear.

Following the take-down of the colors, those interested are welcome to come have spaghetti or pizza at a pizzeria just down the hill from the Elks Lodge. Please notify me by this Wednesday, 30 November so I can make arrangements.
